Gone are the days when there were spoilt brats like Salman khan wheel drove his land cruiser over the poor sleeping pavement dwellers in a drunker state, Sanjeev Naidu a business tycoon who killed six people, he ran over by his vehicle. Pick up the newspapers and read the splashes- Nooari e Haweli wala 27 years old resident of Mumbai killed two and injured several people when she was allegedly drunk and was driving on the Marine Drive. The fair sex, the weaker sex, the ones compared to roses, lily and lotus – have they gone berserks. Turn and look around yourself- does education, independence and equality mean that the weaker sex take to drugs, dress up skimpily.

An eye witness had reported that two women high an booze walked around mid night into a high profile discotheque of a five star hotel in Juhu. They were smoking and making rings in the air. They almost fell down in drunker state, removed their sandals and threw them up in the air, as they hit and abused people around the dance floor. After that they picked up a gay and walked out.

According to a psychologist this could be because of being treated as a second fiddle for years or may be back seat and so after so many years of being ill treated by the men talk at homes and work place they strike with a vengeance .This is the 21^st century where we talk about girls being independent. They are beautiful, brave, bold, bright and energetic, they claim that they have every right to smoke, drink, attend late night parties. However the question is – can they take it all? “Are they capable at handling their drinks”.

Too much of indulgence by the parents have made them into –spoilt brats –they are pampered and spoilt brats-they carry a tag of-“ I care a damn attitude.” Its I, Me and Myself. They are so full of themselves, that it becomes difficult for them to carry on with a healthy relationship. The girls have an easy access to drugs and methods for birth control which gives them a feeling of superiority.

Psychologists are of the opinion that too many years of suppression, staying confined to the four walls, illiteracy lack of decision making power-has led the women of today- to flaunt their wealth, abusing consuming alcohol or drugs

By giving in the undue demands of children and showering them with lavish gifts. Children’s sense of self esteem does not depend on their character and values but on the materialistic things they posses. They over emphasise of the parents on the equality of girls and boys. They try to over-come their own guilt of wanting a son when a daughter is born by over pampering the daughters. Some mothers are also responsible for spoiling their daughters as they want to fulfill their own unfulfilled dreams through daughters and give all the liberties they never enjoyed to their daughters. But in the process what they feel to understand is that they are causing more harm than good.

Not long ago in Delhi, Bollywood’s famous super star Salman Khan was slapped by a “super spoilt” daughter of a business tycoon. She was drunk, gate crashed into his private party .The poor actor was taken aback, but asked her to leave the party politely.

We need to understand that development and liberty does not mean smoking, boozing and abusing, its much beyond it. Let the fairer sex realize and respect their values and walk towards the making of a better society.
